Frequently Asked Questions

What is Assisted  Living?

Assisted living strongly supports and encourages independence and is not a nursing home. Assistance is provided with daily living tasks, as needed, enabling individuals to carryout a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Is  Legacy  Lodge a  Licensed  Provider?

Yes! Legacy Lodge is licensed and regulated by the state to ensure adequate staffing, training, and the ability to administer medications. We are required by the state to post our license in a highly visible location.

Is  There a Doctor or Nurse On-Duty?

Legacy Lodge is connected to a skilled nursing facility enabling nursing staff to visit tenants, when needed. Also, arrangements can be made for a tenant to be seen by the facility nurse practitioner each week. When seen by a nurse practitioner a tenant’s private insurance is billed for the visit. A cooperative agreement for services such as this ensures reduced operational costs.

Do  You Have a House Physician?

The tenants of Legacy Lodge continue to see their own provider. We will help with transportation, when available.

What  Options Are Available?

Legacy Lodge has one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments and two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments. Included in the monthly rent is two nutritious meals daily, with two entree selections per meal; WI-FI, basic cable television, light housekeeping weekly, bed linens changed weekly, organized activities, scheduled outings, church services, on-site staff 24/7, emergency pendant call system, exercise room and daily comfort check. Also, nine garages are available on a first-come first-serve basis for an additional fee.

Do  I  Have to  Sign a  Lease?

Legacy Lodge offers a month-to-month lease to accommodate short-term and respite stays or for those wanting to relocate during the winter months only. We require a 30-day notice when moving out allowing the apartment to be shown to someone on the waiting list.

Are the Apartments  Furnished?

No. The apartments are empty except for a full-size refrigerator including water and ice machine, dishwasher and washer and dryer. The tenant must supply everything needed to make the apartment their home. Each apartment is equipped with a heating and cooling thermostat and the tenant is responsible for controlling the temperature.

How  Do  I  Register  My  Parent(s)  as  a  Tenant  of  an  Assisted   Living  Facility?

First, make sure that the assisted living facility you choose meets the needs of your loved one. We will complete an assessment to determine the level of care your loved one needs, as well as to ensure it's not more than what the facility provides.  Read through the Rental Agreement carefully to better understand which services are covered and which services require additional monthly fees.

Does  Medicare or  Medicaid  Cover Assisted  Living?

No, assisted living facilities are private pay; however, some nursing home insurance plans may cover a portion of the bill.

Is  Legacy  Lodge  Pet  Friendly?

Yes! Bring your pet, however, we do require a copy of the pet shot records for our files, as well as a pet deposit and we ask that it be paid at the time of move-in.

Can  Guests  Stay with  Me in My Apartment?

Absolutely! Each tenant may have family and guests stay with them whenever they chose. For family gatherings and parties, we have an activity room and facility kitchen or we also have a suite for guests wanting to stay an extended period of time with daily or monthly rate options.
