"I am finally home! In early December, I had knee replacement surgery. For many reasons I could not go home, so I went to Legacy Lodge, Killdeer's new assisted living facility. And I am so glad I did! For over 30 years I have served on the Hill Top Heritage Foundation board, and this was my first hands-on experience. I have praised the work of the home to many, and now I can better back up my words. The people who work there were very helpful. They gave me a call pin, which I never thought I would have to use. However, one night I tried to get out of bed to use the bathroom, and I could not get my injured leg off the bed without falling off myself. I pressed the button and explained that I needed someone fast. Sheepishly I told the attendant that I could not get my leg off the bed. She chuckled a little and helped me. She hung around long enough to help me get it back on the bed. They were always willing to help me with what I needed. The people who live there are also wonderful. They are so kind and reassuring and I loved watching them interact. The food was good -- much more variety than I fix for myself. I cannot say enough good things about my stay and I encourage you to give them a try if you ever need them."
